On September 29 of the previous year, citizens launched a "global anti-totalitarian" demonstration, which eventually broke out in multiple districts.

Outside the Admiralty Government Headquarters, more than 500 demonstrators gathered and threw petrol bombs and bricks at the government. The police dispatched water cannon trucks and fired tear gas.

The police officers stationed in the CCP rushed out at multiple entrances and exits and arrested many people.

Three of the men arrested at the scene were charged with one count of riot.

They pleaded guilty to the charges, and the trial opened in the District Court today (31st). The accusation was that one of the defendants threw bricks at the police officers.

Three defendants: Mo Zhenyu (34 years old, unemployed), Yang Leqian (21 years old, student) and Li Qijun (23 years old, computer technician), were charged on September 29, 2019 outside the Admiralty Government Headquarters, among others Unidentified persons participated in the riots.

The parade was not approved by the police on that day

The prosecution's opening statement stated that a citizen organized a public demonstration on September 29, 2019, but the police did not issue a no-objection notice.

At 1 and 2 noon that day, about 20,000 demonstrators gathered outside Sogo Department Store in Causeway Bay.

The demonstrators ignored the warnings from the police and set off from Causeway Bay to advance towards the government.

The demonstrators threw petrol bombs at the Chief Executive

Nearly 4 pm, about 200 to 300 demonstrators in black arrived outside the government headquarters and blocked Harcourt Road with obstacles.

After that, about 500 demonstrators at the scene threw petrol bombs and bricks at the political party.

Some of the petrol bombs hit the water horse and caused a fire.

The police fired tear gas, and the water cannon car fired blue dye at Xia Yudao several times.

Police officers rushed out from multiple exits to pull people

The police officers in the Political Consultative Conference rushed out at different entrances and exits at about 4 pm and arrested many people, including three defendants. The first defendant had thrown bricks at the police officers on the westbound line of Harcourt Road before being arrested.
