Many river festival visitors were looking forward to the Jennerwein piece on the Loisachtaler Bauernbühne.

But nothing will come of it - because of Corona.

Wolfratshausen

- It should be one of the highlights of the river festival.

But now the Loisachtaler Bauernbühne (LBB) had to cancel its spectacular presentation of the events surrounding the Upper Bavarian poacher legend Georg Jennerwein at short notice.

The reason is the strict Corona requirements in the tent stage.

"17 people play in the piece, so the distances are almost impossible to keep," explains LBB chairman Melanie Tobian when asked by our newspaper.

The option of rehearsing a different piece with fewer staff in the short time available could no longer be realized.

Because the Loisachtaler Bauernbühne is considered an amateur theater.

"That means: The actors are not professionals, but private individuals from different households and have to pay attention to contact restrictions", Tobian points out.

The performances on the river festival stage were planned for July 23rd and 24th.

So there would only be a trial period of seven weeks.

For comparison: The elaborate performance of the last LBB river festival piece by “Brandner Kaspar” in 2017 required about six months of preparation.

The third rejection within 15 months

"Before we do something half-flocked, we'd better leave it entirely," explains Tobian. Since the program of the river festival was put together a year ago, the development of the pandemic could not be foreseen at the time. That is why the Loisachtaler Bauernbühne initially agreed. "We were so happy to play on this stage again, but this time it doesn't work," said Tobian after consulting the district office.

For the Loisachtaler Bauernbühne it is the third corona-related cancellation within 15 months.

After the autumn piece, the strong beer festival also fell victim to the pandemic.

"This means that important income is lost for us," says the LBB chairwoman.

For example, the rent for the test cellar on Sauerlacher Strasse has to be raised.

Tobian now hopes that at least the autumn piece “Ma konns oafach koam right macha” can be performed under regular conditions.

Marlene Schretzenmaier, head of the city's cultural office, has already tried to find a replacement after the LBB rejection.

In all likelihood, the ensemble of the Munich Iberl stage will perform at the river festival on Friday, July 23rd.

On the following Saturday, July 24th, comedian Günter Grünwald, known from Bavarian television, could step into the breach.

"There are only a few advance booking regulations to be clarified," says Schretzenmaier.
