Just over 24 hours after the death of

Agustina Fontenla

, the young

Bake Off

participant

who died at the age of 31, her boyfriend

Nicolás Schmollinger

contacted

Clarín

.

Still unable to believe what happened, the baker's life partner

expressed all his pain

in a short but heartfelt message he sent after a query from this newspaper.

"Agus was an incredible person, with a huge desire to get ahead"

, were the first words of the boyfriend of who was one of the semifinalists of the 2020 edition of the Telefe reality show.

And he continued, promptly speaking about his state of health:

"He was fighting because he wanted to get well."

Nicolás with Agustina, in one of the photos he shared on his Facebook.

The pastry chef was admitted to a clinic in the city of Viedma, in Río Negro.

She had been infected with the coronavirus just over a week before her death and in the last hours of her life she

had to be intubated.

His death occurred this Thursday, when his body no longer resisted the disease.

And as soon as it was known,

the terrible news moved a good part of society

due to the popularity that Agustina had achieved for her participation in

Bake Off

.

That is why his family received hundreds of messages of support on all social networks, even the news of his hospitalization barely broke out at the beginning of this week.

Agustina had reached the semifinals of the 2020 edition of "Bake Off".

"I can only

thank all the people who sent her love

and strength to continue," said her boyfriend.

And, when he remembered her, he defined her as a person who

"filled everyone who knew her with love and desire to live."

"It leaves us a very big void

,

"

concluded Schmollinger, who works as an English teacher and has been in a relationship with Agustina for at least 4 years.

THE SAD ENDING

Agustina Fontenla died at dawn this Thursday.

The company in charge of the burial of the former

Bake Off

participant

communicated it on their social networks with a sad message.

"He died in Viedma at the age of 31. His family participates in the death and communicates that his remains will be transferred to Parque de Paz for cremation," the letter said.

Immediately, the news began to spread.

And little by little, as soon as they found out, their former colleagues from the Telefe reality show expressed their deep pain.

Samanta Casais

,

Agustina Guz

and

Damián Pier Basile

, among others, were extremely sorry on social networks.

Fontenla with her former "Bake Off" partners.

Fontenla had received her law degree in 2015 but

her time at

Bake Off

had encouraged her to make a drastic change in her life

and follow her great dream: working and living from the pastry shop, her true passion.

This is what the young cook was now in when she

was infected with coronavirus at the end of May

and, due to an allergy that caused her respiratory problems,

her picture quickly became complicated.

"She is studying Covid with some complications, but thank God she is very well cared for here in Viedma," her father, Julio Fontenla, had said in dialogue with the NoticiasNet portal as soon as the hospitalization of his daughter was known.

A few days later, her body could no longer bear the coronavirus and the pastry chef, a great life fighter, finally passed away.
