The Public Establishment for Drinking Water in As-Suwayda Governorate put 32 wells into service after completing their maintenance and repair in several areas of the governorate.
The Director General of the Foundation, Eng. Wael Shukair, stated in a statement to SANA reporter today that putting these wells into service was done according to priorities, especially for the villages where the well is the only source of drinking water, with a focus also on the wells of the Baka Triangle and Khazema to feed the city of Salkhad and the surrounding areas, as the source of the Jabal Al Arab Dam The feeder for these areas is on the verge of being completely out of service due to the depletion of its water reserves.
Choucair pointed out that the foundation's workshops are in a continuous state of work, including holidays for the maintenance and repair of wells that are out of service as a result of malfunctions, according to the priorities set determined by the importance of the well and its location.
The number of wells of the Public Establishment for Drinking Water in As-Suwayda, which are located in the investment, is about 250 wells distributed in various regions of the governorate.
