Washington, SANA- Hundreds of protesters condemning the latest Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip closed part of Maine

Washington-Sana

Hundreds of protesters denouncing the latest Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip closed part of the port of Oakland, California, yesterday, in an attempt to prevent an Israeli ship from unloading its cargo.

And American media quoted a spokesman for the protesters as saying that "the aim of the protest is to emphasize our rejection of trade between the city of Auckland and (Israel)," noting that this is part of an international sit-in movement that will spread to port cities around the world during the next few weeks.

This is not the first time that protesters supporting the rights of the Palestinian people have prevented the unloading of Israeli ship loads in American ports. In September 2014, demonstrators prevented the unloading of a ship belonging to the occupation entity within 5 days in the same port in protest against the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.

The comprehensive aggression launched by the Israeli occupation entity on the Gaza Strip during 11 days last month resulted in the death of 258 Palestinians, including 66 children, 39 women and 17 elderly people, and the injury of more than two thousand people, in addition to extensive destruction of infrastructure, residential buildings and homes valued at hundreds of millions of dollars.
