Corona has paralyzed the ski and snowboard schools.

No courses were possible last winter.

Now Bundestag member Alexander Radwan is calling for hardship aid for the companies.

Tegernsee / Rottach-Egern

- no lift operation, no ski courses: the corona pandemic completely deprived the ski and snowboard schools of their working basis last winter.

In order to cushion the financial damage for the companies, the member of the Bundestag Alexander Radwan (CSU) from Rottach-Egern is now calling for the "badly hit ski schools" to be included in the hardship fund of the federal and state governments.

"Ski schools are currently one of the companies that de facto couldn't work and earn money over the winter and often fell through the grids of the various economic aid schemes," explains the constituency member for the Miesbach district.

According to Radwan, hardship regulation would send an important signal to the industry

The so-called hardship aid is primarily intended to support companies for which the previous programs were unable to take effect.

The Federal Ministry of Economics has already confirmed to him that ski and snowboard schools can in principle also have access to this aid, Radwan explains in a press release.

The decision and approval is incumbent on the Free State of Bavaria alone.

Radwan therefore appeals to the state government and, in particular, to Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger (FW) to pave the way for the ski schools to apply and to determine whether there is a hardship case: This would be an important signal for the entire industry, says Radwan.

Ski school owner Albert Meier: Support is really important

Albert Meier, co-owner of the Tegernsee ski school from Kreuth, confirms the need for such support.

"The Corona winter was a threat to our existence and it cannot be cushioned in the summer either," said Meier in the press release.

In view of the complete loss of earnings, the fixed cost reimbursement was just a drop in the ocean.

"The hardship aid would be really important in the situation," says the ski school operator.
