The local council had already given its blessing in September.
Peiting - The Villa Rustica, built in the second century AD, is an attraction in Peiting.
And, according to Mayor Peter Ostenrieder, one of the most valuable finds from the Roman country house is the “Peitinger Liebeszauber”: a lead plate with an engraving that tells of a Roman couple.
The find is one of 100 “home treasures in Bavaria” and was one of the reasons why the Peiting registry office will officially offer weddings in the Villa Rustica from June, explains the town hall chief.
Mayor would like to marry all couples himself
He already has six registrations, and on June 18, Ostenrieder will marry the first couple.
The mayor also wants to marry everyone else who gets married in the Roman country house.
The ceremony in Villa Rustica costs 250 euros plus the wedding fee.
From 2022, according to Ostenrieder, 300 euros plus a fee will be due.
50 of these are given to the association that maintains the ground monument near the B17.

One shortcoming is, of course, the lack of sanitary facilities, there is no running water in Villa Rustica.
For the time being, the mayor makes it clear that there will be “one Dixie toilet”.
"Actually, this is only intended for emergencies," says Ostenrieder.
According to his information, the wedding parties are therefore advised to make a stop at the town hall before the wedding and to use the toilets there.

The parking situation at Villa Rustica is also not entirely unproblematic at the moment.
Since there are no dedicated parking spaces available, the cars will have to park along the street.

One will look at everything now this year and then see whether and which measures have to be taken in the future, the mayor looks ahead.
He is now looking forward to the premiere: “Both the couple and I are very excited to see how the new location will be received by the guests.” The rehearsal for the appropriate furnishing of the wedding venue took place this week.
The municipality had the cost 1500 to 2000 euros.
The construction yard takes care of the assembly and dismantling.

The premiere wedding couple on June 18 comes from Peiting.
Ostenrieder assumes, however, that he will also receive inquiries from outside in the future.
They may then also come via the “Romantic Road”, which is only a few kilometers away.
As reported, the “Romantische Straße Touristik Arbeitsgemeinschaft GbR” recently advertised the “perfect wedding locations” in Pfaffenwinkel.
As examples she named the parish church in Rottenbuch, the basilica in Altenstadt, the Welfenmünster in Steingaden and of course the Wieskirche.
