The Daraa Fire Brigade, in cooperation with the people, put out this evening a fire that broke out in agricultural lands east of Dael city in Daraa countryside.
Head of the Forestry Department in the Directorate of Agriculture, Eng. Jamil Al-Abdullah, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the fire spanned an area of 25 dunums planted with wheat and was extinguished before its circuit expanded towards neighboring lands, stressing that the collective action contributed to controlling the fire with the required speed.
Al-Abdullah called on citizens to be careful and not burn dry weeds, and to use plowing mechanisms to create fire lines to facilitate control of fires if they occur.
Today, the Daraa Fire Brigade and the Civil Defense put out five fires that broke out in different areas of the governorate.
The commander of the Daraa Fire Brigade, Colonel Muhammad Mahameed, stated in a similar statement that the fires were distributed among the fires of herbs and trees next to the Tourism Directorate, a fire of herbs behind the Daraa city council, and a fire of a harvest mechanism during work east of Dael due to an electric spark that was immediately controlled without losses, in addition to a fire of herbs and remnants of the harvest north The city of Bosra al-Sham and the remains of a harvest in the Jilin area in the western countryside of Daraa.
Since the beginning of the harvest season, the fires have caused 343 dunums of wheat planted to be out of production.
