The Würmtaler Volkshochschule (Vhs) will reopen this Monday after the corona-related forced break.
Although face-to-face events are possible again for cooking courses and workshops, a lot remains online for the time being.

- Due to the exceptional corona situation, the Würmtaler Volkshochschule, like all Bavarian adult education centers, had to close its rooms in the spring in the meantime. All courses either took place online or were canceled. In May it was already possible to offer a number of language courses in attendance again. But on Monday it really starts: Lectures, workshops in the field of art and culture, cooking courses and the young Vhs can take place again in the Vhs building on Planegger Marktplatz and elsewhere. However, since the semester only lasts until the end of June and some language courses end earlier, many courses are completed online. A changeover for three or four appointments would be too much of a hassle, explains Vhs Deputy Managing Director Karola Albrecht. “A smaller part of the course takes place on site.“Guided tours are already possible again, many of the outdoor events anyway.
More face-to-face courses again in the winter semester
All registered participants will be informed immediately by the Vhs what the course or event looks like.
All interested parties who have not yet registered can inquire at the Planegger office or find out more on the Vhs website at www.vhs-wuermtal.de.
There will be significantly more face-to-face courses again in the fall and winter semesters.
However, some events remain online because this method has proven itself for them.
Things are now looking good for exercise courses such as “Fit an der Würm”, which were restricted by the ordinances to protect against infection.
As of today, the Bavarian State Government has decided to take further steps to open the door.
Sport is possible inside and outside without upper group limits.
Entry into courses is still possible
"Many Vhs participants are very happy that we are starting again and were already impatient. Others, including course instructors, would rather wait and see," says Karola Albrecht.
A few courses are still completely canceled at the moment.
If it is legally possible, however, some health courses will start again in the next few weeks.
"So you can then also start again," says Albrecht.
Financial loss
The reopening is a great relief for the adult education center.
“Of course we enjoy it when there is life in our rooms again,” says Albrecht.
Before the start of the semester, the Vhs team was still optimistic and, due to the progressive vaccinations, expected a more normal course of the semester than last summer - which unfortunately did not come true.
The long period of exception has of course led to financial losses for the adult education center, the amount of which cannot yet be precisely estimated.
The Würmtaler Volkshochschule points out that the underground car park on Planegger Marktplatz is closed until further notice.
Course participants should, if possible, come to the events by bike or on foot.
