At least three people were killed and five injured in a mass shooting early Sunday morning in southwest Miami-Dade, Florida, after a graduation party, police said.
The police chief explained that people were leaving a graduation party near the intersection of 104th Street and 109th Court in southwest Miami-Dade, in a small shopping center, when the shooters arrived in two cars around 2 p.m. am and opened fire.
Investigators are looking for a dark car, possibly a Chevrolet Malibu and a white Toyota Camry.
One of the victims was a Florida Department of Corrections officer.
Two other women died after crashing their car into a wall on the Kendall campus of Miami Dade College, according to Miami-Dade Police Director Freddy Ramirez.

Police found a weapon in the crashed car, but that connection to the shooting remains under investigation, according to Ramírez.

A journalist asked Ramírez if Miami-Dade is safe: "The question that must be asked is the following: Is the United States safe?", The policeman replied.

The event comes a week after a Memorial Day weekend plagued by shootings and deaths and following the attack on a Miami-Dade-area banquet hall that killed three people and injured 20.
