The training tour

Norrispenalized by three places
Initially sixth after qualifying, Lando Norris tumbled down three positions a few moments after chasing against the clock.
The British failed to follow the red flag procedure after Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) crashed in Q1.
The sanction could have been heavier but the commissioners considered that the reaction time was very short.
Norris therefore gets away with three penalty places and will start ninth, just ahead of Valtteri Bottas.

Four red flags in qualifying, Saturday left its mark on some single-seaters. In Q1,

Lance Stroll
(Aston Martin) smashed their cars at the turn15. A turn that trapped many drivers in free practice, such as Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc or Max Verstappen. In Q2, it was

Bottom continues to disappoint
Forced to retire in Monaco following a disastrous stop when he was second, Valtteri Bottas was spied on this weekend in Baku. A reaction was expected.

Leclercla pole in chaos
It ended like the one obtained in Monaco, on a red flag, the fourth of the session, but this time,
Charles Leclerc
had a smile because his Ferrari was well intact.
The Monegasque, a little surprised himself by his performance, clinched his ninth polesSaturday and the second in a row sign of a return of Ferrari? This needs to be confirmed outside the city circuits.
