Protests were renewed in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and the city of Sidon today, to demand an improvement in the living situation in the country and to hold the corrupt accountable.

The Lebanese National News Agency stated that "a group of protesters stormed the building of the Ministry of Economy in central Beirut and tried to take down the ministry's gate, but the security forces prevented them and managed to break up their gathering."

Another group of demonstrators gathered in front of the United Nations "ESCWA" building in central Beirut, to express their protest against the deteriorating living conditions.

In Sidon, south of Lebanon, protesters blocked the city's eastern highway this evening with burning containers and tires, in protest against the deteriorating living and economic conditions, amid security measures taken by the Lebanese army.

Since the seventeenth of October 2019, many Lebanese regions have witnessed demonstrations and sit-ins in protest against the deteriorating living and economic conditions and to demand the fight against corruption in the country.
