Four people were arrested this morning (Sunday) for questioning with a warning on suspicion of bribery, fraud and breach of trust, and several others were detained as part of an investigation into a corruption case being investigated at Blade 433. Among those detained are an assistant government minister, a former medical officer and a lobbyist.

The investigation raises the suspicion that one of the detainees promoted the interests of large commercial companies in the economy in exchange for money, on several occasions, "while exploiting his status and in complete conflict with the public interest," according to the police statement.

If necessary, the police will today request an extension of their detention at the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion.
