According to initial forecasts, Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff won a clear election for the CDU in Saxony-Anhalt.

According to a survey by the Infratest dimap institute, the Christian Democrats received 36 percent of the vote for ARD.

Five years ago it was 29.8 percent.

The AfD comes to 22.5 percent - it would be a slight loss to 24.3 percent in the 2016 elections.

According to the forecasts, the left comes to 11 percent (2016: 16.3 percent) and the SPD to 8.5 percent (10.6 percent), while the Greens achieved 6.5 percent (5.2 percent) and the FDP with 6.5 percent should be able to return to the Magdeburg state parliament after ten years.

In the state elections in 2016, the Liberals failed with 4.9 percent of the 5 percent hurdle.
