Today, elements of the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus and its countryside have organized seizures against a number of shops, kiosks, a sweets bakery that trade in expired and unknown materials, and a fuel station that refuses to sell.
In Damascus, the directorate’s officers, according to a statement, a copy of which SANA received, organized seizures in a number of shops and kiosks in the Al-Asrouniya area, because they contained unknown and expired materials, including food and cosmetics (make-up), toothpaste and kitchen tools.
The Directorate pointed out that the quantity was duly seized and legal measures were taken against violators according to Legislative Decree No. 8 of 2021.
In Rif Dimashq, officers of the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection seized a fuel station in Qatifah, in violation of refraining from selling, and a bakery for the manufacture of sweets in Jaramana, which contained a quantity of rotten materials that smelled bad and showed signs of mold, including 20 kg of cake and Kato (Layalina).
The directorate indicated that the supply control has been organized against the violator, and the duly seized quantities have been destroyed, and legal procedures will be completed in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 8 of 2021.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection is conducting an intensive campaign to monitor and control markets, especially of unknown and expired materials, as they pose a threat to the health and safety of citizens.
