It was not to be expected otherwise: Since the B17 was closed this early afternoon, it has only been a snail's pace through Peiting and Schongau.
The traffic jams again and again.
There is no improvement in sight for the time being.
Schongau / Peiting - bumper to bumper, it's only been through Peiting and Schongau since the early afternoon. As announced, the State Building Authority has closed federal highway 17 between Peiting West and Schongau West for the upcoming renovation. According to the construction authority employee Alois Stapf, the full closure cannot be avoided. “We have to build across the board,” he said recently, especially with a view of the Lechtal bridge. As reported, in addition to whispered asphalt, the structure will also receive new caps, which will cause less noise when driving over it.
In Schongau and Peiting there is now a state of emergency.
Traffic will be diverted in both directions in Peiting via Füssener and Schongauer Straße.
In Schongau, cars, trucks and buses roll back to the main road via Peitinger-, Bahnhof- and Marktoberdorfer Straße.
The police had not received any complaints this afternoon.
However, drivers sometimes complained of continuous stop-and-go traffic and traffic jams.
The situation in the city and the market town is unlikely to change much in the next five weeks, especially during rush hour.
This is how long it takes until the B17, including the Lechtal bridge, between the two junctions is open again.
