How red are the red numbers at the district clinic?

The Wolfratshauser CSU comes to a different conclusion than District Administrator Josef Niedermaier (FW).

Wolfratshausen

- The local association of the CSU reports doubts about the numbers that District Administrator Josef Niedermaier (FW) has named with a view to the deficit of the Wolfratshausen district clinic. They would not match the numbers reported in the annual reports. “On the other hand, years in which the clinic has made a surplus are also incorrectly reproduced or concealed”, stated the chairman of the local association, Claudia Drexl-Weile and CSU city councilor Günther Eibl, in a statement by the Wolfratshauser Christsozialen.

As reported, the district council should only make decisions on future health care in the district and on the future of the district clinic after public information events.

District administrator Niedermaier, who would like to look for a strategic partner for the communal clinic in Loisachstadt, requires the hospital management team to provide an updated strategy as a single clinic (“possibly with preliminary considerations on selective collaborations”) as well as long-term investment planning.

Because the district clinic, as Niedermaier has emphasized several times, is "structurally deficient".

According to the district administrator, the loss that the district had to compensate for as the institution responsible for the facility has been around ten million euros since 2013.

There is a need for clarification for the CSU

Drexl-Weile and Eibl, on the other hand, point out that, according to annual reports, the clinic generated a surplus of 1.77 million euros in the years 2009 to 2012.

And: While the income statement for 2013 showed a deficit of around 1.28 million euros, "District Administrator Niedermaier calls a deficit of 1.4 million euros".

That is a difference of 120,000 euros.

According to the CSU, something similar was found when comparing the figures from 2018 and 2019.

The bottom line is a "total deviation" of 650,000 euros.

A sum "that needs clarification on the part of the district administrator".

The proposed way of instructing the clinic management to propose suitable measures for the future is correct. "

Claudia Drexl-Weile and Günther Eibl, CSU Wolfratshausen

CSU boss Drexl-Weile and Eibl, Vice-Mayor of the Flößerstadt, emphasize again that the district clinic must remain in municipal sponsorship. Privatization is out of the question. The management of the district clinic has shown "that with the help of a suitable consulting company they can take the necessary steps themselves to create the desired goal of an economically robust future". What is meant is the consultancy firm Oberender und Partner from Bayreuth, which examined the facility in 2017. Following their recommendations for action, Drexl-Weile and Eibl report that the district clinic has succeeded in reducing the deficit from 2.22 million euros (2019 financial year) to 450,000 euros (2020). Conclusion: “The proposed way of commissioning the clinic management to propose suitable measures for the future itself is correct.“On this point, I agree with Niedermaier, chairman of the supervisory board of Kreisklinik gGmbH. However, this should not be done under time pressure. District Administrator Niedermaier was not available on Monday for a statement. (cce)
