Yesterday, the people, the fire brigade and the civil defense in Daraa put out six fires that broke out in different areas of the governorate.
The head of the Forestry Department in the Daraa Agriculture Directorate, Eng. Jamil Al-Abdullah, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the people controlled a fire in Jassim city that caused damage to a limited area planted with wheat that does not exceed four dunums, calling on the people to plow safety lines to prevent the expansion of the fire department and thus preserve the farmers’ crops agricultural.
For his part, the commander of the Daraa Fire Brigade, Colonel Muhammad Mahamid, said that the cadres of the regiment put out yesterday two fires of crops for limited areas in the Al-Shara wells area in the city and the town of Basir in the northern countryside of Daraa. They also dealt with a fire of dry herbs and olive trees in the eastern Kashef neighborhood near Al-Kour Mosque, in addition to a fire of olive trees In the Panorama neighborhood and the last harvest remains in the town of Tafas
Mahamid called on citizens to immediately report the fires on the toll-free numbers 113 and 109 to deal with them immediately before they spread towards citizens' properties and agricultural crops.
Since the beginning of the harvest season, dozens of fires have erupted, removing 368 dunums of wheat planted from production.
