Forty works of art using watercolor technology, which were attended with their transparency and magic in the topics and artistic visions presented, were included in the art exhibition of students and professors of the Fine Arts Center in Lattakia.

The exhibition, which is currently hosted by the exhibition hall at Dar Al-Assad for Culture in the city, was the result of a workshop on watercolor technology held by the center for its students under the supervision of senior plastic artists who have a presence on the fine scene in the context of keenness to provide the expertise of specialists in various artistic fields according to the Director of Culture in Latakia Majd Sarim.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Sarem indicated that this workshop has its own peculiarity, as it is the first specialized in watercolor technology, which needs accuracy and experience, after it was limited to acrylic and oil, so it was keen to target the largest number of students of the center.

Yasser Soboh, director of Dar Al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia, explained that these workshops aim to bring the artistic educational process out of its classical framework into an interactive framework and to provide all the required support and expertise that contribute to graduating students at a level of professionalism.

The plastic artist Adawiya Diop, one of the supervising professors, described this workshop as quality at the Syrian level because the watercolor technique is characterized by sensitivity, difficulty, and high transparency, and it requires a great effort from the artist to create his own signature and style.

Plastic artist Ali Makoss, who shared with the students some of his rich artistic experience, considered that the workshop supports the students' experiences in the field of watercolor and provides a broader concept of it and how to deal with it in an ideal framework in an interactive atmosphere and a state of positive work.

The student at the Center for Fine Arts and at the College of Fine Arts, Duaa Zainy, saw that the exhibition and workshop were an opportunity to learn about the water technique, which many students shy away from because of the accuracy and difficulty it needs, as the possibility of correction does not exist other than oil and acrylic, which makes choosing it requires great talent and accuracy.

For her part, Elham Naasan Agha, director of the center, indicated that the center affiliated with the Latakia Culture Directorate seeks to develop talents regardless of educational attainment over a period of two academic years and includes continuous activities, including workshops, collective and annual exhibitions, allowing the student to obtain experience that allows the refinement of his talent and helps him find his way. in the field of professional art.
