He said that the "Hong Kong Ten-Year Housing Plan" proposed by the party requires the development of 2,400 hectares of land and the construction of 650,000 units. It is initially estimated that the total value of the project in 10 years will be 1,290 billion, which can contribute 428.3 billion yuan to the construction industry and create 600,000 units. position.
According to Leung Mei-fen, a member of the Pakatan Harapan Legislative Council, there are currently 26 public housing estates in Hong Kong that can be rebuilt, which is estimated to provide 360,000 units. He urges the government to initiate large-scale public housing redevelopment and set a road map and timetable.
The Pakatan Rakyat hopes that the government will increase the supply of public housing through reconstruction and reduce the current 5.8 years of public housing waiting time to four years or less.
Advocate the development of land in the border areas of country parks and the New Territories
Another Pakatan Harapan member Wu Yongjia suggested that the government use "Develop the New Territories" as a call to substantially develop land in the New Territories, providing more than 2,600 hectares of residential land, including 1,000 hectares of agricultural land held by developers, 74 hectares of brownfield land, and 1,200 hectares of ancestral hall land. And 360 hectares of wetland buffer zone.
He believes that the government should break down the system and increase the amount of compensation, including compensation to owners of brownfields and ancestral halls based on Grade A agricultural land standards.
The Pakatan Rakyat also proposed to develop the border areas of country parks, and strive to develop houses on a total of more than 40 hectares of land in Tai Lam, Yuen Long and Shui Chuen O, Shatin, and study the conversion of 1,329 hectares of border land into residential land.
