Today, Mrs. Asma al-Assad visited the first center for blood stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy for children in Syria, which was the fruit of 15 years of work and effort despite the siege.
Ms. Asmaa was briefed on the final preparations for the launch of the center in the coming weeks, accompanied by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim. The center treats children with leukemia, some solid cancers, hereditary blood diseases and congenital immunodeficiency diseases.
The center is equipped with the latest medical technologies, with the adoption of the highest technical and engineering standards that ensure the best levels of prevention, sterilization and isolation, and ensure the safety of the sick child and the success of operations, in addition to its design that takes into account the achievement of medical isolation for the child without alienating him from his mother and family.
