Gertraud Bamberg, head of the Poingen community library, reports that in times of the pandemic mainly media for children was lent out.

The ranking of the three books that were most lent between May 2020 and May 2021 are all from the author Margit Auer and are children's books from the series: “The School of Magical Animals”.

Bücherei Poing: The top 3 are children's books

Due to the corona, fewer books and media have been loaned out in the past twelve months than before, reports Bamberg.

This was mainly due to the fact that the library was partially closed completely (from December 9, 2020 to January 31, 2021) or was only able to offer lending to go (December 1 to 8, 2020 and from February 1 to March 7, 2021) .

Then, however, the loan was limited to five media per person or ten media per family.

Apart from the children's books, "we were unable to identify any genre focus during the corona pandemic," reports the director.

Almost 30,000 books borrowed

From May 2020 to May 2021, books were borrowed a total of 28,865 times, and other media such as CDs and DVDs 13,611 times.

For comparison, the number of loans before Corona (May 2019 to May 2020): 40,182 books and 20,695 other media.

As Gertraud Bamberg reports, the Poing community library currently has 12,418 books in its range and 3,988 other media.
