Occupied Jerusalem-SANA
Today, the Israeli occupation forces demolished four homes and six agricultural facilities north of Jericho in the West Bank.
Wafa news agency reported that the occupation forces, with a number of bulldozers, stormed Palestinian lands in the Arab al-Kaabneh area, north of Jericho, and demolished four homes and six agricultural facilities.
In the context of implementing its aggressive and Judaizing schemes, the occupation forces are escalating demolitions of Palestinian homes and properties in the West Bank, amid the international community’s ignoring of Palestinian demands for urgent intervention to implement UN Resolution 2334, which demands an immediate halt to settlements.
In addition, Israeli settlers stormed today an archaeological area near the Ibrahimi Mosque in the Old City of Hebron in the West Bank, under the protection of the occupation forces, and bulldozed large areas of its lands.
The director of the legal department in the Hebron Reconstruction Committee, Tawfiq Jahshan, told WAFA that settlers stormed Palestinian lands in Hosh Qafisha and Sharif, near the Ibrahimi Mosque in the Old City of Hebron, and bulldozed 400 square meters of it with the aim of seizing it and expanding settlement operations.
Jahshan explained that the Old City of Hebron, with all its neighborhoods, is a land of a world cultural heritage and must be protected, calling on the international community and the member states of the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization “UNESCO” to assume their responsibilities, take effective measures and provide protection for the land of Palestine, its people and its cultural heritage.
In Paris in 2017, UNESCO announced that the Old City of Hebron had become a “protected area” as it “enjoys exceptional universal value” and included it on two lists: the List of World Heritage and the List of Heritage in Danger.
