Copa América: Argentina will not stay in Brazil 1:44
(CNN) -
An ethics committee of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) temporarily removed its president, Rogério Caboclo, from his position, while an investigation is being carried out into a complaint against him, a statement from the CBF.
The statement was issued after Brazilian media reports indicated over the weekend that a CBF employee had filed a complaint of sexual abuse.
The CBF did not elaborate on the nature of the complaint.
The dismissal announced on Sunday is valid for 30 days, and comes just as players and staff of the Brazilian soccer team express their disapproval of the decision of the confederation and the Brazilian government to host the Copa América in Brazil.
Brazil coach Tite and a group of footballers say they will speak publicly on the matter on Tuesday.
Vice President Antonio Carlos Nunes de Lima will be promoted to interim president of the CBF while the complaint is investigated.
