The general mask requirement has been lifted.

Nuremberg - Since Monday (June 7th) there is no longer a general mask requirement in the zoo *.

Visitors only have to wear an FFP2 mask * at the entrance, in the publicly accessible buildings and on the walkways of the catering establishments.

Nuremberg: Visitors have to register online in advance - no negative test necessary

The city of Nuremberg * has appealed to the state government several times to lift the mask requirement in the outdoor areas of the zoo, as it announced in a message.

Anyone wishing to visit the zoo must register online in advance free of charge at www.tiergarten.nuernberg.de.

A negative corona test or proof of vaccination are not necessary due to the current seven-day incidence.

A few days ago, the escape of a lynx from its enclosure in the zoo caused a stir.

In a neighboring enclosure, the animal then killed three antelopes and injured a young animal.

The animal was eventually stunned and returned to its enclosure, where it later perished.
