On two weekends it gets loud on the A94, then much quieter: the road is being rehabilitated on the section between Forstinning and Hohenlinden - with consequences.
Forstinning - Officially it is called "noise-reducing thin-layer pavement", popularly it is called "whispering asphalt": Such a layer will be applied over the next two weekends on the A94 motorway between the Forstinning and Hohenlinden junctions.
In both directions.
This is announced by the responsible Isentalautobahn Services GmbH & Co. KG from Ampfing.
This means: the construction work will make it noisy at first, but then the traffic will roll more quietly than before on the motorway between Forstinning and Hohenlinden.
Motorway with only one lane on two weekends
The construction site is about two kilometers long, on Friday, June 11th, the road starts at 8 p.m. on the road towards Munich.
The Isentalautobahn Services informs that the work will continue until Monday, June 14th, 5 a.m.
During this time, the traffic will be diverted in both directions via the carriageway towards Passau.
On this weekend, the Hohenlinden motorway junction in the direction of Munich is closed, so it is not possible to get on or off the B12.
The Auwiesen parking and toilet facility, which is also in the direction of Munich, is already closed from Thursday, June 10th, 12 p.m. to Monday, June 14, 5 a.m.
The asphalt is also being rehabilitated here.
Renovation work on weekends
From Friday, June 25th, 8 p.m. to Monday, June 28, 5 a.m., it is the turn of the road in the direction of Passau.
Then the traffic will be diverted in both directions via the side towards Munich, also single-lane.
The Hohenlinden junction will be closed again on the second construction site weekend.
In addition, the Holzfeld car park will be closed from Thursday, June 24th, 12 p.m. to Monday, June 28, 5 a.m.
Due to the closure of the Hohenlinden junction, a diversion route to the nearest Pastetten junction will be set up during the construction period.
With regard to the heavy goods traffic and possible alternative routes, the Isentalautobahn Services expressly points out "that the Forstinning thoroughfare is generally closed to trucks".
Traffic noise is a major, also political issue, especially on the new section of the Isental motorway.
