“
Today we have a reimbursement intention from 90% of our customers. Just over 15% repay their entire EMP today. The rest of the companies will stagger the reimbursement. Half will use the additional year which is authorized to them to reimburse, especially the smallest companies
”, highlights Thierry Laborde, deputy general manager of BNP Paribas, this Wednesday in the morning of BFM Business. The French Banking Federation said more than half of the companies that received a state-guaranteed loan opted for an additional year before starting to repay their credit.
In most cases, the loans guaranteed by the State are overwhelmingly covered by the State, 90%, and 10% payable by the banks.
It was initially planned that companies benefiting from this guaranteed loan would not have to make any repayment in the first year, in order to then be able to repay it within a maximum period of 5 years.
30 billion additional bank deposits
But faced with the prolongation of the health crisis, the banks undertook at the beginning of January to systematically agree to postpone for an additional year the start of repayment of these loans for companies making the request.
During this additional year, only the interest and the cost of the state guarantee are then paid.
Largely thanks to EMPs, the cash flow of companies is high.
“
There are 30 billion more deposits in the accounts of French companies (BNP) between February 2020 and April 2021. This is a very positive signal, we anticipate a strong recovery.
