Foreign "neobanks", these financial establishments which operate exclusively online, have recently alerted their French clients: the accounts they hold with them must be declared to the tax authorities.
As the 2020 tax return campaign comes to an end on Tuesday evening, this is information that should not be ignored.

This is indeed the rule.
As part of the fight against tax fraud, French taxpayers must declare to the tax authorities the bank accounts they hold abroad, such as current accounts, savings accounts but also contracts of life insurance.
And this obligation does not spare the holders of accounts exclusively online, opened very easily with a "neobank" at advantageous rates - as with the British Revolut, the German N26 or the Dutch Bunq.
Because these accounts are therefore also located abroad.
