Among other points of tension between the two powers, US President Joe Biden will discuss international computer security issues with his counterpart Vladimir Poutine during their meeting scheduled in Geneva on June 16.
With a clear message, summed up by a White House spokeswoman:
"Responsible states must not harbor

perpetrators
."

Ever since the Solarwinds attack, which allowed a criminal group to break into the systems of dozens of U.S. government agencies and thousands of businesses for months, the United States has known it has to strike a blow to pose certain limits.
Without ever having directly accused Russia of being behind certain attacks - the attributions are always difficult and delicate - the United States hopes to convince Russia to be less complacent with the attacking groups.
