Late on Tuesday afternoon, Wolfratshauser Strasse in Baierbrunn was suddenly blocked on one side.
Motorists were diverted in urban areas.
The Baierbrunn fire brigade was responsible, which - in the truest sense of the word - had an animal mission on the federal highway.
Baierbrunn - For two out of three ducks, their trip to Wolfratshauser Straße (B 11) in Baierbrunn on Tuesday afternoon went smoothly - thanks to an attentive passer-by, the helpers from the Baierbrunn fire brigade and employees of Wort & Bild Verlag.
One of the animals that was escaped from private ownership did not survive the walk on the main road.
It was hit by a car.
Passer-by informs the fire brigade
As Arthur Weber, equipment manager at the Baierbrunn Volunteer Fire Brigade, reports, a woman from Baierbrunn called the tool shed on Tuesday at 3:55 p.m. because she saw three ducks on the road on the main road in the area of the Catholic Church.
According to her statement, animals had also been hit by cars.
The fire helpers immediately got an idea of the situation, blocked one side of the main road and diverted the traffic within the town.
Publishing staff help with the capture
With the support of employees of the publishing house, which is located in the immediate vicinity, the five-person fire brigade team was able to drive one of the ducks back into the gate.
The helpers rescued another duck injured from the street and brought it to a veterinary practice in Hohenschäftlarn.
There, according to Weber, the animal was examined and given medical care.
Fortunately, since the injuries were not severe, the duck was handed over to its owner.
There are more pictures of the mission here.
