The National Commission for Network Services announced the organization of a competition for the first time in Syria in the field of information security through the national platform “CTF.SY” in cooperation with the Arab Internet and Communications Union and the Syrian Telecom Company.
In an announcement today, the authority explained that the competition aims to enhance and develop skills on the cyber horizon, discover Syrian talents in this field, prepare for participation in regional and international competitions, build a culture of awareness and qualify national expertise.
In its announcement, the authority indicated that the registration for participation in the competition starts from today, noting that the participants will be divided into two age groups: students from 17 to 24 years old and professionals over 24 years old, and each participant will have a list of challenges in different disciplines such as reverse engineering, web security and investigation Criminal, Network Security, etc.
The participant for each challenge that is solved will get a certain amount of points depending on the difficulty of the challenge. Those who get the highest score at the end of the competition are the winners, according to what the Commission mentioned in its announcement, in which it indicated that one of the conditions of the competition is that the participant must be a Syrian national, and participation is according to the age group and adherence to the conditions The other contest.
The authority pointed out that in-kind prizes will be awarded, including a laptop to the first, second and third winners of each category, and a tablet device to the fourth and fifth place winners in each category, in addition to certificates certified by the Ministry of Communications for the ten winners and the necessary support for them to participate in the upcoming regional and international events.
