The introduction of so-called hybrid meetings is currently being discussed in many Bavarian cities and municipalities.
At its first meeting after the momentous Corona outbreak, the Gmund municipal council already made a decision - and a majority rejected the opportunity to attend meetings via IT.
Gmund - The detailed, controversial and emotional debate was over, the vote was over: With a vote of 12: 6, the committee decided to introduce attendance at meetings or online, which was initially limited to December 31st.
This achieved the necessary two-thirds majority.

The request of the Greens parliamentary group for the future design of the Gmund meetings with the highest possible level of infection security for those present was also processed to the satisfaction of the applicants.

One after the other: While the Tegernsee city council was still discussing the basics of hybrid meetings on the same evening, all the details were already on the table in Gmund.
In essence, it is about room for maneuver for councils - both for protection against infection and for family-friendly participation in meetings that is easily compatible with the job.
Disadvantages such as possible technical problems, a greater amount of time required for the coordination and the associated legal concerns as well as the lack of charm of a meeting were contrasted with advantages.
