The members of the Herrschinger Helferkreis were very disappointed. After the non-public decision on the extension of the location of the refugee accommodation on Goethestrasse until 2023 (we reported) they had hoped on Monday in the building committee to find out more about further perspectives. However, the two agenda items that were supposed to deal with this topic were canceled at short notice.

The members of the Herrschinger Helferkreis were very disappointed. Herrsching

- At the request of the district administrator, the location for the refugee accommodation on Goethestrasse was not extended to 2026 as requested, but was extended to 2023. According to the rules of procedure and at the request of the parliamentary groups, the decision was not made publicly, explains Mayor Christian Schiller in an interview with Starnberger Merkur. Every council member was free to request a public discussion. Apparently there was no such initiative. So while the property matter had been negotiated behind closed doors, the development plan that was now necessary should usually be dealt with in public.

As reported, the building code provided for an exemption for refugee accommodation in outdoor areas until the end of 2019. This rule took effect on Goethestrasse. The special permit expired at the end of 2019, which would have required a development plan that was to be set up for a limited period at the expense of the district. On Monday, however, it became known that the building code now provides for a further exemption. District spokesman Stefan Diebl confirms that this regulation has already passed the Bundestag. What is still missing is the decision of the Federal Council. District architect Dr. Christian Kühnel had recommended to wait, as the change in the law also meant that no development plan was necessary.

What at first seems positive for the municipality and the district, disappointed the members of the Herrschinger Helferkreis even more. They would have liked to hear not only about the prospects for their protégés, but also about the reasons why an extension of the accommodation on Goethestrasse was approved until 2023 and not until 2026.
