In these times of deconfinement, the Prime Minister also benefits from significant progress in this barometer.

He earns four points and also enjoys 50% favorable opinions.

It gains points among the elderly (+7 points) and among workers (+9 points).

In addition, 7 out of 10 voters of the Republicans, his former party, are satisfied with his action.

Mélenchon collapses completely

Jean-Luc Mélenchon, whose conspiratorial exit has ulcerated the entire political class this week, for his part tumbles by ten points in this poll and falls below the symbolic bar of 30% of favorable opinions.

With 65% of bad opinions, he is now the political figure least appreciated by the French, just ahead of Marine Le Pen.

Between April 2017 and June 2021, the leader of France Insoumise, who had managed to obtain more than 19.5% of the vote in the first round of the presidential election, fell from 68% to 28% of good opinions: a fall of 40 points.

The other political figures of the left do little better: all lose points.

Martine Aubry is the best placed with 47% favorable opinions, ahead of Ségolène Royal, François Hollande and Anne Hidalgo (40% each).

On the right, Pécresse and Bertrand are shoulder to shoulder

The situation is much less complex on the right.

Édouard Philippe is the favorite political figure of the French, with 64% of favorable opinions.

Xavier Bertrand, president of Hauts-de-France and presidential candidate, meanwhile totals 46% of good opinions (+2 points), ahead of Valérie Pécresse (45%) and Laurent Wauquiez (38%).

In addition, Édouard Philippe is also at the top of the favorite political figures of the LR electorate, with 88% of favorable opinions.

He is ahead of François Baroin (86%), as well as Xavier Bertrand and Valérie Pécresse who both collect 83% of good opinions.

Nicolas Sarkozy, meanwhile, is down four points (80%).

Methodology: The Ifop-Fiducial survey for Paris Match and Sud Radio was carried out on a sample of 1008 people, representative of the French population aged 18 and over. The representativeness of the sample was ensured by the quota method (sex, age, occupation of the head of household, level of education), after stratification by regions and categories of agglomeration. The interviews took place by telephone on June 2 and 3, 2021.
