The Moosburg construction committee will discuss a new building at the Rewe site on Monday.

Meanwhile, the group and its landlord comment on details of the plans.

Moosburg

- What's next for Moosburg's Rewe-Markt?

The building committee will discuss this on Monday.

As reported, the town hall had received a preliminary decision about the demolition and rebuilding of the supermarket in the Neustadt.

There is also talk of usage units for doctors.

In the meantime, Rewe has answered questions from our editorial team and the landlord at Neue Industriestrasse 7 has spoken out extensively.

Why is a new building needed?

As Rewe spokeswoman Rosmarie Anthofer explains, "the store in Moosburg no longer meets the requirements of a modern supermarket". Building fabric and technology are outdated. Martin Heilingbrunner is also convinced of this. He and his siblings Susanne and Peter own the property. The building dates from the 1960s, says Heilingbrunner. "It was then again expanded and completely modernized in the 1980s and 1995." Now the building envelope and the energy supply in particular no longer correspond to the zeitgeist. Because Rewe was increasingly improving the energy balance in all markets, “we as landlords were faced with the question: Is a core renovation enough for this?” According to Martin Heilingbrunner, after an invoice “with a sharp pencil” and discussions with consultants, it became clear:A new building is needed to secure the location for the next few decades.

What can customers look forward to?

"To a modern shopping environment in a pleasant atmosphere and based on the current Rewe concept," says Rosmarie Anthofer.

The building - if the new building receives a permit - will be erected and furnished using an energy-efficient and sustainable construction method.

"By using resource-saving technology, for example in the deep-freeze and fresh food departments, the market will also make an ecological contribution." An energy-saving lighting concept and the use of green electricity are also planned.

According to Martin Heilingbrunner, photovoltaics is also an issue here.

How realistic is an integrated medical facility?

As the Moosburg businessman reports, the city approached his family with the question of whether they could imagine creating rooms for doctors - regardless of the Rewe location.

Heilingbrunner: "On the one hand, there are practices in the city center where doctors are cramped and there are no direct parking spaces."

"The arrival of more doctors is only the next step," believes Heilingbrunner.

In any case, he is toying with the idea of building barrier-free practice rooms on the upper floor of the supermarket.

The dimensions of a classic medical center with numerous specialist areas will, however, not achieve that.

The parking key and other points also played a role here.

How long would the market have to stay on?

“In any case, as short as possible,” emphasizes Heilingbrunner.

For Rewe spokeswoman Anthofer, the construction schedule depends on the course of the approval process and the planning discussions.

Is it possible to move for the construction phase?

There have already been talks between the landlord and Rewe about this.

Heilingbrunner: “Unfortunately, there is currently no empty hall that Rewe could move into.” His family has a piece of land on which a tent can be erected, “but Rewe immediately rejected it”.

The additional costs for temporary cooling, nightly security and also tent rental are disproportionate.

What's next for the sub-tenants?

When asked about the future of the Kopp tobacco exchange, which, unlike the Höflinger bakery, does not have a large branch network and currently faces an uncertain future, the Rewe spokeswoman says: “Talks with the subtenants will be started in due course, currently the planning process is still in the foreground. ”However, additional retail will“ certainly continue to round off the Rewe range in the future ”.

And Heilingbrunner makes it clear: “We have a good relationship with Mr. Kopp.

If we can help Rewe's sub-tenants over time, we are always open to discussions about appropriate solutions. "
