Russian artists at the Faculty of Fine Arts to exchange experiences in the field of graphics and lithography

Damascus, SANA- Russian artists visited today the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Damascus and were briefed on lithographs and laboratories.

Today, Russian artists visited the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University and were briefed on lithography laboratories and ceremonies in the Graphic Department. They discussed with the faculty’s professors the possibility of cooperation in the field of graphic design and the exchange of expertise, experiences and visits in this field.

The Russian artist Kirill Ovchenkov, during his meeting with the students of the graphic department at the college, gave a presentation about his artistic experience and expertise in the field of graphic design, thermal printing, and how to draw paintings in a classic way on clothes and accessories.

In a statement to SANA, the artist Ovchenkov expressed his admiration for the interest he saw in art in all its forms among the Syrian people, expressing his hope that this visit would contribute to increasing communication and cooperation between the Syrian and Russian sides and strengthening joint artistic and cultural ties for the benefit of students and artists of the two countries and developing their expertise.

In turn, Dr. Samir Rahma, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts for Administrative Affairs, pointed out that the visit of the Russian delegation contributes to strengthening cultural and artistic exchange between the two friendly countries and the possibility of holding subsequent joint workshops that enhance the talents and capabilities of artists in both countries.

Dr. Kinda Maarouf, from the Graphic Department at the college, pointed out the importance of learning about and benefiting from the experiences of Russian artists, especially in the field of thermal printing, as it is one of the most important subjects taught to students of the Graphic Department at the college.

Dr. Irina Shishkna and Maria Redkina from the Institute of Geography in St. Petersburg expressed their admiration for the work of the students of the Faculty of Fine Arts and their eagerness to learn about Russian artistic experiences, noting that organizing such meetings enhances joint relations between Syria and Russia and learns about the cultures of the two countries, especially by addressing the younger generation.

This visit comes within a series of joint Syrian-Russian cultural activities that started last week and will continue until the thirteenth of this month with the aim of strengthening cultural exchange relations between the two countries.
