A new British study found that aspirin does not improve the chances of survival for people infected with the Corona virus.

According to Bloomberg News, the study showed that aspirin, which dates back to 120 years and is widely used to increase blood fluidity in heart patients, does not make any difference in the death rate with respect to corona, based on a month of clinical trials that included about 15,000 volunteers.

The researchers showed that survivors of death from the disease who received aspirin spent less days in hospital compared to those who did not receive a daily dose of it.

“Aspirin is inexpensive and widely used in other diseases to reduce the risk of blood clots, so it is disappointing that it does not have a significant impact with respect to Covid 19,” said Martin Landray, professor of medicine and epidemiology at Oxford University and one of the main participants in the study.

Doctors had hoped that aspirin could help fight blood clots caused by Covid 19 in the lungs and elsewhere in the body, but the trial results indicate that aspirin will instead join a long list of treatments that can no longer be relied upon in the fight against the Corona virus. .
