Eitan Biran, the five-year-old boy who survived the cable car disaster in Italy, was updated on the deaths of his family members, the country's media reported today (Wednesday), about two weeks after the accident in which 14 people were killed, including five family members.
Eitan was the only one who survived, and he is recovering in a hospital alongside other family members who came from Israel.
Authorities in Italy arrested three suspects following the accident - the company owner, an employee and an engineer who was responsible for the maintenance of the carriages - claiming they were aware of the technical problems at the facility.
The prosecution said the three knowingly put a "fork" that prevents the emergency brakes from being activated so that they would not operate regularly.
They have since been released after judges ruled there was no fear they would flee or disrupt the investigation.
