An overheated fish tank light broke out in Fung Tak Village, Wong Tai Sin. A 14-year-old boy suffered burns to more than 20% of his skin while assisting in fighting the fire.
At 4 pm today (9th), the police received a report from a woman in Zhu Fung House, Fung Tak Village, asking for help, saying that the fish tank lamp in the unit was suspected of overheating and causing fire. Her 14-year-old son suffered burns on the face and the boy was sent to Yilisha. He was treated at Bo Hospital. When he was sent to the hospital, he put on an oxygen mask and his face was wrapped. He was in critical condition at night.
The scene of the incident was a unit on the middle floor of Zhufeng Building. The head of the household was named Huang.
It is reported that Huang and his 14-year-old son were at home at the time of the incident. During the incident, the fish tank light in the bedroom was suspected of overheating, causing fire and burning the curtains. Huang's father tried to put out the fire and asked his son to help. In the meantime, the boy's hair and face were burned.
Fire and rescue personnel arrived at the scene and immediately sent the injured boy to the hospital. The fire was put out immediately. After inspection, it was initially believed that the incident was not suspicious.
