Wang Township has found a location for a cell phone tower.

The local council sees no risk from the mast between the fields.

Wang

- It was the result of a really intensive search: after about a year and a half, the Wang community found a location for a cell phone tower.

This is located in the open between the towns of Sixthaselbach and Scheckenhofen.

The local council has now unanimously given the go-ahead for the location.

Three citizens concerned about the radiation had come to the meeting.

Mayor Markus Stöber showed understanding for the concerns about health, but emphasized the joy of the majority of the citizens: "Many people keep asking me when you finally have good cell phone reception." You now have to take this into account by choosing a location have to carry.

Markus Stöber was satisfied with the result of the search, "because we are also a bit far from Sixthaselbach".

The distance to Inzkofen and Scheckenhofen is a little further. There is only one farm in the immediate vicinity, but the family living there can live with the cell phone mast.

The station will be built on an area of 106 square meters with a mast height of 40 meters. The applicant Vantage Towers is building for the provider Vodafone, whose customers have no reception in large parts of the municipality of Wang. With the building permit, the municipal council decided that the other providers can also attach their systems to the mast, as is usually the case. This means that the municipality should then also be well covered by all important mobile phone providers.

The citizens who were critical of the system asked for information on the transmission power. Stöber replied that the system was planned with the 4G standard. However, he cannot rule out the possibility of an expansion to the newer 5G technology in the future. With the resolution, the committee also stipulated that only mobile telephony may be located on the mast and no other technologies.

Because of the concerns of a few citizens, the community held information events and local councilor Michael Müller participated in an online lecture with an expert from the State Office for the Environment.

It was made clear that the smartphones emit significantly more radiation than the cell phone masts.

"It doesn't go together when you complain about the transmitter mast and then have your cell phone in your pocket," said Müller.

The local council sees no risk from the Wanger mast between the fields: "It doesn't look nice, but it doesn't harm anyone."

Good news for families:

Children under twelve get free entry to Moosburg this year.

However, not everyone is enthusiastic about the decision.
