With the participation of 65 players who represented most of the training centers and clubs that practice chess in Lattakia, the Technical Subcommittee held the Governorate Championship in the Al-Baath Stadium Hall in Jableh.

Haidara Zabadneh won the first place with a total of eight and a half points, followed by Heviar Kharfan and Tim Hassan, each with 7 points, after a round of differentiation took place between them to determine the second and third.

The head of the committee said in a statement to SANA’s sports reporter that the tournament was held according to the Swiss system of 9 rounds, the duration of the round is 10 minutes, with an addition of 5 seconds, and was characterized by wide participation because it was open to all ages.

The technical committee of badminton in Lattakia also held the governorate championship for children under 15 years old, as part of its preparations to participate in the republic championship, which will start next Saturday in Homs.

In the male category championship, Mahmoud Amin took first place in the under-13 category, in the under-11-year-old category, Jaafar Badour, and in the under-13-year-old female category, Nabiha Al-Asali and under 11-year-old Sirin Salloum.
