Nuremberg - An elderly woman was the victim of a money exchange fraud on Tuesday afternoon (June 8th), according to a report from the police headquarters in Middle Franconia *.

The elderly woman wanted to withdraw cash from a machine on Oppelner Strasse in the Langwasser district of Nuremberg at around 11.45 a.m.

A short time later she was approached by two young men.

One was slim and around 25 years old, the other strong and around 30 years old.

The two asked the lady to change them money.

She agreed and wanted to help the men, but they took advantage of their kindness and were able to steal several hundred euros in bills from the old woman's wallet without being noticed.

The Nuremberg police * are now advising that you should not allow yourself to be harassed.

In addition, purse or handbag should not be left to unknown people. 

The police also advise against carrying large amounts of cash with you.

Distractions are also warned, as fraudsters often act in pairs.

The police are currently looking for possible witnesses.

Notes should be submitted to the Central Franconian Criminal Police Service on 09 11 21 12 33 33.
