Much can be achieved by working together: With this goal, members of the organization team of the “Fridays For Future” movement (FFF) Schongau with representatives of all parliamentary groups in the city council, Mayor Falk Sluyterman and Markus Keller from the Association for Nature Conservation have recently come together online hit round table.

- the main topics were everyday cycling and public relations, as well as how it could be achieved to better involve citizens of the city and the surrounding area in climate protection. On the subject of bicycle traffic, it was noted with satisfaction that the city had already developed an everyday cycle path concept and that 50,000 euros a year had been allocated to the budget for its implementation for several years.

During the conversation it became clear that the success of this concept depends on whether it is accepted by the population. There were concerns that bypassing the main traffic routes, as the concept envisages in many places, could lead to longer routes and would therefore not be used. Hans Rehbehn dispelled these concerns: the paths would sometimes have a longer effect, but are often faster due to their topography or also because they have to be stopped less often.

In the area of ​​public relations, three areas were discussed: The online availability or findability of information on climate protection in Schongau;

the idea of ​​a joint exhibition by the city and FFF as well as a citizens' dialogue on the subject of climate protection.

Furthermore, the plan was forged together with the mayor to make climate protection a point of discussion at the next citizens' meeting.

On the other hand, opinions differed on the issue of climate protection managers, for which FFF is committed.

Mayor Sluyterman, on the other hand, cannot fulfill this wish in view of the current tight budget situation - and if so, possibly with the neighbors from Peiting and Altenstadt.
