The assassination of Julie Douib left a mark on the conscience of the Corsican population. And even beyond. 3000 people marched in L'Île-Rousse to pay tribute to the victim. They were around 900 in Vaires-sur-Marne, a town where she spent her childhood, supported by the comedian and actress Muriel Robin. The emotion even reached the government since this feminicide committed at the beginning of March 2019 in L'Île-Rousse, in Balagne, is at the origin of the Grenelle against domestic violence created, in the wake, by Marlène Schiappa, then secretary of State in charge of Equality between women and men. More than two years after this tragedy, the Assize Court of Haute-Corse will, as of this Thursday, judge Bruno Garcia-Cruciani, 45, father of the two children of the victim, accused of having shot dead, with premeditation , his ex-concubine.The death of Julie Douib concentrates all the issues linked to the long list of feminicides: hold, submission, domestic violence and judicial slowness.
