From Thursday, it should be possible to prove the digital vaccination pass in Germany using the “CovPass app”.
You can find out what holidaymakers have to consider here.
The vaccination campaign continues to advance: Almost 19 million German citizens (as of June 9th) are fully vaccinated, over 46 percent of the population have received at least one initial vaccination.
So it is time for the digital vaccination certificate, which has been announced for a long time, but is now finally to be rolled out.
The CovPass app should be available free of charge from this Thursday.
Among other things, this should help to make traveling in summer * easier.
How do I get the digital vaccination certificate?
To activate the digital vaccination card in the app, you need a
QR code
. After a full corona vaccination, this will initially be issued to you by the
pharmacy
, but in the future also by the
family doctor
or the
vaccination center
as a vaccination certificate. The pharmacy sends your vaccination data to the Robert Koch Institute, which checks and confirms the data. It then creates the vaccination certificate and sends it back to the pharmacy. As announced by the Federal Association of German Pharmacists' Associations, pharmacies will be ready to issue the certificate from next Monday. However, not every pharmacy can do this right from the start.
It is also planned that at some point the code will be sent to your home by post.
Anyone who has already been or will be fully vaccinated in the near future has the option of having the digital vaccination certificate issued at a later date.
You need these documents for the digital corona vaccination certificate
To issue the digital vaccination certificate, you need your
vaccination
certificate
or a
vaccination certificate
, an
identification document
and your
smartphone
.
To be on the safe side, you can also take your health insurance card with you.
If you can no longer find your vaccination certificate, it is best to ask your family doctor or the vaccination center.

Corona: This is how the digital vaccination certificate helps you when traveling
From July 1st, the EU wants to provide an electronic platform for checking vaccination certificates across Europe.
The digital document should contain information on vaccinations, but also on tests or a coronavirus disease.
Some member states are already issuing certificates, which are then interconnected in the EU platform.
Anyone who can then show the
digital EU vaccination
certificate is exempt from the obligation to test or quarantine throughout the EU, as long as the corona situation on site allows it.
In addition, the digital vaccination certificate can be integrated into the Corona-WarnApp.
Does the digital corona proof replace the yellow vaccination booklet?
If you don't have a smartphone or prefer the yellow vaccination booklet, you don't have to worry.
The digital vaccination
certificate
is intended to be a
voluntary addition
to the yellow vaccination certificate.
Alternatively, the QR code that would be displayed on the smartphone in paper form is sufficient.
In addition, it should be possible to store the vaccination status of several people on a smartphone.
You can also register with family or friends in an emergency.
