Fire station remains in the balance

The Pastetteners showed great interest in the special meeting of the municipal council on the subject of the fire station.

Due to the corona, only a good two dozen visitor spaces were provided in the back of the gym, and they were all quickly occupied.

A solution is not yet in sight.

Pastetten - Mayor Peter Deischl (FWE) caused a surprise by pointing out that three items will be removed from the agenda: the application to commission the IBG office to advise on the further development of the fire station at the building yard, the application from the Reithofen-Harthofen volunteer fire department to the construction of a new tool shed and the application of the Pastettener Wehr for the renovation of the old house.

"We passed resolutions, rejected them and then made new resolutions again," said Deischl, "in my opinion we have lost the common thread".

In the public meetings there were discussions that were not productive and there were agreements among themselves.

Tool shed at the sports field?

Green light for the referendum

On June 2nd there was a meeting with a mediator in the town hall (

).

"We discussed the topic of fire stations extensively with him." He had given the advice "to work on the topic with care and to go into retreat".

The motion for a referendum on the fire station on the sports field was eagerly awaited by the spectators.

Managing director Gottfried Prostmeier announced that the previous petition with 703 valid signatures complied with the regulations.

The municipal supervisory authority of the district office has also given the green light.

The councils unanimously approved the referendum.

Now all Pastetteners who are eligible to vote will be able to vote in a referendum on whether a fire station should be built on the sports field or not.

Does mediation bring the solution?

As in 2015, the mayor and the municipal council have called on a

mediator to help

put the completely lost fire station cart back on track.

On June 2nd there was a non-public appointment in the town hall.

As a result of this conversation,

three topics were dropped from the agenda of the special session

, but the mediation and the change in the schedule were only announced at the beginning of the session.

When asked by our newspaper, Mayor Peter Deischl (FWE) announced that the 2nd and 3rd Mayors Roswitha Bayer-Siegling (FWE) and Alice Lorenz (Greens) also took part, as well as Alois Huber (WRH), Andreas Wagner (BIG ), Matthias Zimmerer (CSU) and Managing Director Gottfried Prostmeier.

The commanders Peter Lex (Pastetten) and Thomas Huber (Reithofen-Harthofen) also sat in the group.

The moderator was urban planner Andreas Raab from the School for Village and Rural Development.

Little is known of the content.

As Deischl said, it is a matter of trying out

various possible solutions for housing the fire brigades

.

In any case, the sports ground location decided on April 20 does not seem to be set in stone any more than a common house.

This also became clear in the council meeting, when the formation of a project group was unanimously decided.

The councils have also decided to found a project group to further develop a preliminary design for the fire station. This request was made by the proponents of a common house on the sports field. However, the wording was changed in the resolution, there is no longer any talk of a “common” house, and “at the building yard” has also been deleted. The group will consist of members of the local council under Deischl's leadership. Experts should also be consulted for advice.

The citizens' request from Johann Grill did not come to the vote.

He had asked the public to find out about the area sizes of the two plots that would be provided for the fire stations in Reithofen and Pastetten in the newly applied for zoning plan.

He also wanted to know which areas are to be added to the purchase and what the terms of the contract are.

Prostmeier announced that the property in Poigenberg was about 5000 square meters, the one in Reithofen about 5300 square meters.

For Hans Kerschbaum (FWE), the answer was not enough: “But the question was also which exchange areas were made available.” Deischl said that property matters do not belong in the public eye.
