The defendant pleaded not guilty, and the prosecution stated that the case would be handled by an external barrister, and 4 prosecution witnesses would be called. No CCTV footage was presented to court.
The defense stated that it needs to obtain a psychiatric report, and it remains to be decided whether to call a doctor to give evidence.
Acting Chief Magistrate Zhang Jieyi postponed the case to July 15 for a pre-trial review, and the prospective defendant continued to be released on bail under the original conditions.
