Starting today, Thursday, two schools in Germering and Fürstenfeldbruck will say again: “Psst, rest, there are exams!” Until the following Tuesday, the graduating students of the technical (FOS) and vocational high schools (BOS) will write their Abitur in German, in each case Profile subject, in English and in mathematics.

Fürstenfeldbruck / Germering - there are exactly 100 students at the

Germeringer FOS

.

60 to 70 high school graduates can be accommodated in the gym at a distance and with a hygiene concept, explains Jürgen Vath, who heads the FOS.

Students who are not tested sit in a separate room.

“I think the students were able to prepare well,” says the headmaster.

During the Whitsun holidays, the school was opened for two extra days.

"Libraries or similar, quiet study rooms were closed." On one day of the holiday, as many as 26 students came, tested and learned.

A teacher was available to answer questions.

In

Fürstenfeldbruck

, 650 students from the

FOS and BOS

graduate.

Whether 12th or 13th grade - all write their four written exams at the same time, explains headmistress Monika Pfahler.

Those who successfully complete school after the 12th grade achieve the technical college entrance qualification, after the 13th the subject-related university entrance qualification.

Alternating and face-to-face teaching worked well in the past six months, says Pfahler.

“Our final classes were often present in the school building.” In your opinion, the Abitur could have taken place on the actual date - but the ministry postponed the examination period by more than three weeks.

Testing in Fürstenfeldbruck - as in 2020 - with mask and distance.

“The students have to keep their surgical masks on during the entire examination period,” says Pfahler.

Corona test is one day in advance.

“A test right before the exam would be too much.

You're nervous enough, ”says the headmistress.

Students without a test also sit separately in Bruck.

The corona-related hygiene concept and mouth and nose protection are already known to students and teachers from last year.

30 minutes more exam time is new.

For example, the German Abitur this year takes five and a half hours for the 13th grade or four and a half hours for the 12th grade.

“Every classroom in the house is occupied during the four days of Abitur,” says the headmistress. There is space for 180 test subjects in the gym - the rest is divided into 15 students per classroom.
