But Oberhofer and Braun, both headmasters in Isen and Wartenberg, are already looking beyond the summer.

And for once, the educators do not mean the development of the pandemic, but the adequate supply of teachers to schools.

“In primary and secondary schools there is a great need for educators, high-quality teachers, including specialist teachers, which cannot be met,” they diagnose.

“Why doesn't the Ministry of Education and Culture just say that this statement is correct?” They wonder.

Instead, attempts are made to “manage the shortage more badly than rightly”.

In case of doubt, the sports, work, art or music lessons may also be saved.

In fact, the ministry immediately rejected the identical criticism from BLLV President Simone Fleischmann on Tuesday as excessive.

"Shorten the time table, save on staff - this calculation does not work," explain the Erdingen teacher officials.
