National security education is gradually infiltrating college courses.
Chen Huici, the new principal of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, said at a media tea gathering today (10th) that National Security Education in the new school year will be integrated into the required general education courses for the whole school, but will not be split into a separate course.
She said that she did not want to "enlarge" the national security law. She believed that the national security law is the same as other laws, and students also need to understand the new law, which is logical as a civic education.

It is expected to apply for upgrading to a private university within five years
Tung Wah College has been preparing to upgrade to a private university. She pointed out that the college’s student numbers, financial and governance capabilities are all up to the standards, but the teaching and scientific research performance needs to be improved. The 2022/23 academic year will launch medical management and medical information courses, and plans for the future Established master's and doctoral programs for several years.
One of the prerequisites for upgrading to a private university is that the institution obtains at least three disciplines in the scope of assessment qualifications. Donghua College was the first to obtain the qualification for occupational therapy in the scope of assessment last year.
She expects to apply for four more disciplines for accreditation, science, early childhood education and applied psychology, and hopes to formally apply to the government to become a private university within five years.
She continued that Donghua focuses on offering medical and nursing courses with a clear positioning and will not compare the pace of upgrading with other colleges and universities.
